SIHMA | Scalabrini Institute For Human Mobility In Africa

New intern at SIHMA, Felipa Schmidt

In this peculiar time SIHMA managed to face the quarantine time by starting the collaboration with a new intern that will work for SIHMA remotely from her home country. She was supposed to arrive at the beginning of the year to start her experience as an intern for research and communications, but Covid-19 crisis changed the plans.

So we are more than welcome to have Felipa now in our team who will collaborates from Germany for three months. Felipa is 24, she was born in Germany and raised in the United States. In the summer of 2019 she graduated with a master degree in War & Psychiatry. During her Master degree she volunteered at Doctors of the World, where she gained familitary with the topic of migration and migrants. She decided to apply for the research internship at SIHMA to gain a different but equally important perspective on the issue of migration.

Felipa will not be the only intern working remotely, SIHMA already received other requests, and more collaborations will start soon in this new and smart working method for the next few months.
