SIHMA Annual Report 2024
Published by: SIHMA
In its 10th year, the Scalabrini Institute for Human Mobility in Africa (SIHMA) continues to advance research, advocacy, and training focused on the rights and dignity of migrants and refugees across the continent. The 2024/25 report highlights key achievements in evidence-based research, including studies on refugee integration in Uganda, youth migration in Southern Africa, and the role of the Catholic Church in supporting people on the move. SIHMA also expanded its publications, most notably the African Human Mobility Review (AHMR) and strengthened capacity-building through workshops, pastoral training, and policy-focused seminars. Through partnerships, online resources, and the Blog on the Move, SIHMA provides accessible insights into migration trends while countering harmful narratives. Despite global increases in forced displacement, SIHMA remains committed to promoting humane, informed, and rights-centered responses to human mobility in Africa.
